Ernest Surwumwe is a gentlemen that has given back to his own country. Ernest has worked with Home of Hope volunteers many times now in and around Rwanda and the HOH projects.

Ernest is a builder by most accounts. He has helped head up projects in Gatsata, in Cyruru to name a few. He also helped put a roof on a widow’s home to help keep the rain out and her many children dry. Men from Canada who have come to Kigali area to work with HOH projects are sure to meet Ernest and even need his wisdom and connections to get things done. He has his own network of people that he uses to get materials, information and even some shopping done if that’s what we need.

In the picture above Ernest is giving one of the new churches in Kigaga a drum to use for their newly started church. You see Ernest sees the value in giving even if you have little to give. He gives from what he has and doesn’t focus on what he can’t do or give. Ernest is being the difference in a new church to help enrich their worship. I have witness Ernest give from his heart even to one of our team members. He gave a sacrificial and unexpected gift to one of the men on a team from Canada. This gesture was so unexpected yet so powerful it really moved the recipient of his generosity. Ernest lives and works in the Kigali area trying to make his way like so many. Ernest also gives where he lives and is so appreciative of many Canadians coming over to help his communities. These are the kind of people you will be working with, getting to know and having influence with. These are the kind of people that will be influencing you.

Come be a part of a Home of Hope team. You will be giving back, changing lives and meeting quality, generous people like Ernest. Be like Ernest, Be the Difference.
